My Favorite Color

Some girls see the world in pink... I see it in BLUE. Yupp, blue remains my all-time favorite color... be it the blue sky, the blue ocean, blue files/folders, blue spectacle case, blue pencil, blue candles, or the blue Cool Water perfume by Davidoff (You can read the review on that link.)

There was a time when I had more blue dresses in my cupboard than all the other colors put together. Sure there were brief phases of other "favorite colors" too... green, yellow, orange... but, blue has remained constant for over 3 and a half decades now.

Here's a picture of me in... well, blue! :D

This picture was taken at my sister's engagement function in March 2011. So yeah, it's not recent. But this is my favorite blue suit in my wardrobe currently. Isn't it pretty?

Which is your favorite color?

My favorite color is green :) Though it doesn't reflect in my wardrobe or blog or such :D

Wondering how it'd have been if your blog was fully in blue ;)

What a lovely photo! I always seem to gravitate towards burgundy as my favourite colour, though I do love others as well.

I guessed blue.. And second option ofcourse black and theb green and other colrs... mine is PINK...since a long time... now

Chicky said...

Thanks, Princess! And why am I not surprised? Your 'avatar' is also wearing a blue dress, did you notice? :D

I love blue - my specs, my sarees, my tops, the lunch box..I just can't avoid blue..
but being a Sagittarian it is written on stone..are you a Sagi too? :)

Chicky said...

Ahhh, green! Green is for the heart chakra, Leo. You must have an open heart chakra if you're attracted to green. Green is for growth and prosperity. Good color, really.

And I've often wondered about it too. Excpt that blue wouldn't go too well with my orange Kaddus! :(

Parul has a blue blog though... and I totally love it! :D

Chicky said...

Thank you, Laurel! Burgundy always seems like a royal color to me... rich and elegant. Perfect for one of those big-fat Indian weddings! I must look up what other things it signifies.

Chicky said...

You would have guessed! :D
And black... well, Papa doesn't like it no!
Yours was also easy... you an Radhika both live, eat, sleep and dream PINK!

Chicky said...

Hahahaha! Parul, I just mentioned your blue blog to Leo! :D
Even toothbrush first choice is blue, isn't it? I didn't know it was a Sagi thing though. I'm a Capri. I used to think Sagis would prefer more bright colors...

I am really bad at guessing so I just came to read the post ;) You look lovely!

Chicky said...

Thank you, Shailaja! I keep coveting your beautiful sari pictures on Facebook! :P
What's your favorite color though?

You look lovely in blue, serene like the free-flowing water! I have never had any one favourite colour, I like so many, including different shades of blue.

Lovely pic and an interesting topic for the month! I am a black and blue person myself! ;)

My fav colors are red & white. However, as a teen I was obsessed with black. My mom used to be so annoyed with me as 90% of my clothes were black, and she would not let me wear black on festivals and auspicious occasions so I was forever short of clothes. :P

Chicky said...

Thank you, Beloo! You sure know how to give pretty compliments! :P

Chicky said...

Thank you, Aditi! It's quite surprising how many "blue lovers" are there in the blogosphere!

Chicky said...

You have this thing with black too, Shantala? Same here! My sister and I weren't allowed to wear black too much either. My Dad even dislikes us buying black footwear. He says the school shoes were enough!

By the way, I read somewhere that red and white flowers should not be put together in the same vase.

I used to be a crazy fan of blue, and most of my clothes were blue too. Right now, I am not even sure what my color favorite is. I think I like red and purple now, depending on my mood.

Chicky said...

You too, Sreesha? :O :O :O
So why did you switch over to the more royal colors now?

Rajlakshmi said...

Blue is my favourite color too, you look great and that suit looks beautiful too :) These days I got all black and white in my wardrobe, mostly for office,
Coincidence... I just posted a blog on my blue dress,

Chicky said...

Thank you, Raji! And yes, I remember seeing pictures of you in blue on Facebook. The color suits you. I must check out that post. Is it a new dress? :D

Nice to put a face to your name Chicky! :) I thought you were wearing white actually! ;) I love the colour blue, all shades of blue but especially periwinkle blue which is a blueish purple. It comes in light and dark tones too, of course! ;) <3 (By the way, you may wish to update your cartoon as it does no justice to your lovely face.)

Rachna said...

Blue is my favorite color as well. Even my reception saree was blue. :) Hi Five to that. And, I love that picture of yours.

Chicky said...

Thanks, Elly! :D
Periwinkle blue sounds cool. Must try it sometime in a dress.
And that cartoon is for lending that aura of mystery around this space, you know. After all, it is called "mysterious kaddu"! ;-)

Chicky said...

Thank you, Rachna. I would love to see a pic of you in that sari. You must share it on Facebook.
