My Favorite 10 Harry Potter Characters ~ Ten On Tuesday

Earlier in the morning, I was catching up on some blog reading and I came across a post by a Potterhead where she'd mentioned the Weasley Twins as two of her favorite Harry Potter characters. That got me thinking about my favorite characters from this series. And as today happens to be a Tuesday, I figured why not do a "Top 10" list of my favorite Harry Potter characters! So, here they are...

My 10 Favorite Harry Potter Characters

  1. Professor Dumbledore.

The greatest wizard of all times, who looks down, with all-knowing eyes, through his half-moon glasses, at the students gathered before him in the Great Hall of Hogwarts. (And occasionally winks at Harry too.) A man of great wisdom and some really memorable quotes. Here's one...

  2. Professor Hagrid.

The half-giant who prescribes the Monster Book of monsters that the students can't even figure out how to open, keeps a dragon for a pet, and makes iron-hard cookies!

  3. Harry Potter.

The boy who lived. Despite all odds. And his recklessness. And the great love "trouble" has for him. And the prophecy. And, of course, "he-who-must-not-be-named"!

  4. Ronald Weasley.

The red-haired boy with freckles and a perpetually lost look on his face. If you think about it, the only reason he had to go through all those dangerous adventures with Harry was because his family showed Harry how to get into Platform 9 and 3/4.

  5. Hermione Granger.

Miss "Cross-your-T's-and-dot-your-I's". Honestly! That's what I thought of her in the first part of the series. Harry and Ron were seriously very bad influence on this hard-working, disciplined, studious, and once-upon-a-time-a-law-abiding-student-of-Hogwarts!

  6. Weasley Twins.

The greatest mischief-makers I've ever seen in any book! Seriously! I can't even begin to imagine what poor Molly must have gone through raising these two imps! Two "wizard" imps, on top of everything! Phewww! But some of my favorite quotes from this series come from these two geniuses.

  7. Neville Longbottom.

The boy who evolved the most during the series. From a timid little thing to one of the bravest "soldiers" who fought in the great battle of good versus evil! But then the Sorting Hat always knew he was brave, or he wouldn't have been in Gryffindor, right?

  8. "Loony Luna" Lovegood.

I can't believe there exists anyone in the whole world who didn't develop a fondness for this dreamy-eyed and seemingly scatter-brained girl who read the Quibbler upside down and spoke some of the wisest words at times... wise beyond her years!

  9. Lee Jordan.
The "famous" Quidditch commentator from Gryffindor House and fellow mischief maker with the Weasley Twins. I think I fell in love with this character because of his awesome commentary during the inter-house Quidditch matches at Hogwarts.

  10. Errol, the Weasley's owl.

Always landing at the wrong place, at the wrong time, in the wrong style. Poor thing. He looks so miserable. I don't know why, but, I developed a fondness for this wretched creature more than Harry's gorgeous white Hedwig.

So these are my Top 10 Favorite Harry Potter Characters. Who are your favorites? They can be other than these 10 too. Do share.

Would you believe that I've never read a single Harry Potter book or seen any of the movies? I think I must be one of the few in the world, LOL! ;)

:) Yeah, I like this. I still remember Hagrid saying "Some ruddy bird called Errol" in Prisoner of Azkaban. Made me smile, that scene.

And yeah, definitely the Weasley twins would've been in my list too. The fireworks that would put Dr. Filibuster out of business. I could picture them quite clearly in my head, much better than what was in the movie :D

I personally would have placed Luna Lovegood at the top of my list. She's weird like me.
P.S. Glad to see that I inspired a fellow blogger like you to write down this list! #Honoured :)

Laurel, yes you are one of the rare few people in this world. I do know a lot of people who haven't read the books, but not having watched a single movie.... that's surprising! One or the other of them is always on air on cable TV!

Chicky said...

:D Leo, who else would make it to your favorite list?

Chicky said...

Oh Loony was weird alright, Mithila. I wouldn't say you are THAT weird... yet! :P
And thanks for the sudden post inspiration. It is of even more importance in daily challenges.

@Nibhz: You look like a Potterhead too! Am I right?

Chicky said...

Thank you, Blogoratti! It would have been interesting to know some of your favorites too from the series.

I'm not too fond of Harry potter series but if my favorite character has to be mentioned it would be Cedric Diggory in I think two Harry potter's played by none other than the Robert Pattison... hahaha.. on a serious note I liked Hermoine.. I think she was wicked (in a cute way )and smart.. And quite intelligent too... the dumbest was Harry potter himself...

I adore all the characters of Harry Potter, even Dudley after he changed in the last book. In my list I would feature Mrs Weasley too and Sirius Black and Hedwig... oh I just can't stop.

I see a few common favourites in the list, fellow Potterhead :)

Chicky said...

@Sis - Hahahahahahaha! Of all the people to like in the series, you like Cedric Diggory, and for what a reason! =)) You are too funny!
I agree about Hermione though. Ron was dumber than Harry. Hagrid was even dumber. Errol was the dumbest!

Chicky said...

Oh ho, Raji... it's a "Top 10" list! How will you fit in everyone in the Top 10? There's Dobby also na! You forgot him.

Chicky said...

So share your list then, Potterhead! Won't take that long now! :D

Lovely post. I think it I would find it really very difficult to pick characters they all are so damn amazing and close to my heart :D <3

Chicky said...

I know, Pooja. It was difficult for me too to pick just 10. We've just grown so fond of them all!

Vinay Leo R. said...

My favorites list? Ollivander and Crookshanks would be part of it and Hedwig and Dobby of course.

Parul said...

I am one of those very few souls left on the Earth who have never held a Harry Potter book in my hands. *Don't kill me*

Chicky said...

Oh yes! I forgot Crookshanks! Hermione would kill me if she got to know! :P

Chicky said...

Hahahaha! Parul, have you watched any of the movies?

Shilpa Garg said...

All the people from your list are my favorites too. I like Snape, Minerva, Dobby and Sirius Black too! :)

msbhawna said...

I liked Sirius Black, Tonks and Lupin too

Chicky said...

Oh yes, Shilpa! Even Fleur seemed to grow on me eventually, you know. :P

Chicky said...

Bhawna, Tonks, Lupin, Dobby & McGonagall just missed this list. Black would have made it too, though slightly further down. I liked Snape more than Black.
