10 Pick-Me-Ups ~ Ten On Tuesday

Day 16 of "2013 Ultimate Blog Challenge" : Ten On Tuesday: 10 Pick-Me-Ups

There are times when we feel low... when we feel uninspired and unenthusiastic about anything in the world. But we cannot always depend on someone else to cheer us up. At times, we just have to do it on our own. And for those times, we all need to have some trustworthy pick-me-ups. Here are 10 of mine...

  1. Reading books
  2. Watching English action movies
  3. Watching re-runs of English TV serials from the 90s
  4. Walking
  5. Listening to music
  6. Cooking
  7. Pampering myself (putting on fresh nail paint, applying a face pack, or indulging in a home pedicure/manicure/facial)
  8. Completing pending chores at home (ironing, cleaning cupboards)
  9. Reading old letters from school friends (Yes, I still have them!)
  10. Painting, embroidering etc., or even adding some new functionality to my blog

These were my top 10 pick-me-ups for those times when I have to lift myself out of the blues on my own. What are your pick-me-ups for such occasions?

Here's more in "Ten-On-Tuesday"!

This is my 16th post for 2013 Ultimate Blog Challenge.

And true we all need such things to help us pick up ourselves in times bad :)

Call a friend up and bug the crap out of them.

Great that you preserved letters from school friends. See, you already showed the aptitude for becoming a blogger :) My list is fairly similar. I try to read (if I can keep my focus intact - sometimes I am so disturbed that reading even a few sentences can take a long time) or listen to music. Sometimes it also helps a lot to exercise.

Since you like watching reruns of English serials, may I also recommend two series "Bewitched" and "Different Strokes", which will have you in splits?

I've got some of yours...reading, doing my nails, watching some DVDs, music, playing with my kitties, going to the beach and the biggest ever --- exercising!

A cuppa coffe
A book
Some music
Time with brat! :)

My instant pick me up are reading books with a cup of tea or buying a couple of books. When outside, a cup of coffee at or from CCD or Costa Coffee does the job :-)

Arre Richa, I'm no M.F. Hussain either! Still, I love doing it at times! :P It makes me feel so childish, you know... all happy-happy and giggly! It's fun, really!

OB, you got that wrong as usual. It's not "a friend"... it's specifically "OB"! Call up OB and bug the crap out of him!

Chicky a.k.a. Kaddu said...

Rather, "send an SMS to OB, asking him to call me up, and bug the crap out of him!" :D

Oh yes, Kaneenika! I was born to be a blogger! The kind of nonsense I used to write in my diary earlier, and in all those loooooong letters to my friends! Will post a few of those old gems here sometime! :D

Yes, I used to watch Bewitched and Different Strokes earlier. Loved them both. They're on my to-download list. Then there was Small Wonder and Wonder Years. And I just finished watching the entire series of Doogie Howser and Who's the boss. Have half of I Dream of Jeannie too, and Full House.

You know what! This would make for a good Ten-on-Tuesday post here. 10 English TV serials of the 90s that I loved! Will post it next Tuesday if I don't forget! :D Thanks for giving me yet another idea for a blog post! :D

PB, I've read your list on your blog. That's where I got the idea for this post! It had been sitting in my drafts for so long! :D

Chicky a.k.a. Kaddu said...

Hahahah! Smita, I love how you always call him "brat"... as if that was his name! :P :P :P

Chicky a.k.a. Kaddu said...

Reema, books and tea/coffee, together, usually don't work that well for me. I love the combination, but it's just that I get so engrossed in the book that I forget to drink my tea/coffee! :(

Abhiroop Banerjee said...

No. That's what I do. Call up a friend and bug the crap out of them. You are too busy to talk.

Anonymous said...

yes to all of them except 9 and 10 !! :D

Chicky a.k.a. Kaddu said...

OB - 'Course I'm NOT! You don't call me because in my case, it's me doing the bugging! Not because I'm too busy to talk! :D

Chicky a.k.a. Kaddu said...

Cool, pixie! So we are 80% similar! :D

OMG! Suku... shopping GIVES me the blues! :(
That's one chore I put off till it can't be put off anymore! Seriously!
