Just Dragging Along

Day 28 of "2013 Ultimate Blog Challenge" : Just Dragging Along

I've been blogging daily since 1st of April this year. Finally, it has started taking a toll on me. The following picture can best describe my state at the moment...

First of all, I'm seriously behind my reading schedule on this UBC challenge. I've got so many unread posts in my feedly that I'll probably end up reading and commenting on them long after the month is over! That's quite okay with me though. I have a feeling that all my fellow UBC participants are going to take it easy next month. So all these "carry forwards" in my feed reader will give me something to read next month. Besides, I really don't like making a rush job of the reading and commenting part on my favorite blogs. So I'll get around to it when I'm in a state to genuinely enjoy what they've written.

Secondly, I'm even slacking in my replies to everyone's comments here! I think I haven't replied to a single comment in the last 3 days! Shame on me, no! :(

On top of everything, I'm also running out of ideas to blog about! Correction: I'm out of *short* ideas to blog about! Life got a bit busier than usual this month with other stuff... (i.e. the non-hobby stuff... the priority stuff!)... but that's how life is, right? It happens to us while we are making other plans.

(That, by the way, has been one of my favorite quotations since I made my first email account.)

Anyway, since I don't have the time to pen-down my usual length posts, I'm on the lookout for topics that I can do justice to in few words, but, as I mentioned at the end of my second daily-blogging challenge here ("November 2010: Random Ramblings"), it is always more difficult to blog daily without a pre-decided theme in mind, or a set of fixed daily prompts (like in the case of those photo challenges I did in May and June).

Good news is that the month is more-or-less over now. Just 3 more days left, and then I can plan how to celebrate my 800th post here.

Any ideas, anyone?

This is my 28th post for 2013 Ultimate Blog Challenge.

I can relate to the pic above. :D
Daily blogging and hectic schedules does that to us. Even I am so behind in my reading blogs and books schedule.
800 posts... you are amazing. Looking forward to that soon.

We are in the same boat and that is why I have taken to reviewing books!!! And unlike you I don't have the patience of commenting in all unreadposts!!! I do read them but commenting not my cuppa tea!! Sigh!!! Bad I know :(

Hold on for 3 more days and then it will be better!!!

Jokes apart Chicky, I want you to know that I've loved your blogging spree. Your blog, as I've said elsewhere, is my favourite corner of the Internet, and for every single day over the last 4 months, many times a day in fact, I have come to Mysterious Kaddu to read what you came up with. If I was delighted by this cascade of posts that covered a remarkable variety of topics and themes, I marveled at just how creative you are, and wondered at how nicely you balanced the many responsibilities you have in your life apart from this blog! You did not miss a single day, you did not miss responding to a single comment, and you didn't just post for the heck of it, you didn't let the standard of this blog, standards you've set yourself over nearly 7 years, to be compromised, ever. Not in one post was a reader made to feel that you sacrificed quantity for quality or speed for substance!

Bravo Kaddu, hats off to you! Thank you for a thrilling, 4 month roller coaster ride on Mysterious! Take a break, but come back soon, or I shall have withdrawal symptoms :)

Hahaha! OB, as they say... necessity is the mother of all inventions... AND ideas for blog posts! :P

Then you can relate so well, Pixie. This UBC round was really the Ultimate Blogging Challenge, wasn't it?

Shilpa, I committed to 40 books this year, on the goodreads challenge. I have read only 10 so far! :(
Yeah 2 posts short of 800. Still haven't decided what to do for the celebration.

Chicky a.k.a. Kaddu said...

Smita, that's even more amazing! I take so long to write a book review on my blog that I haven't written a single one all through July!

Yeah, even I don't comment on all posts. So many times, I just read and then leave silently. At times, I just don't have anything to add or share on someone's post na. And it doesn't make any sense to comment just for the sake of commenting.

Chicky a.k.a. Kaddu said...

Awwww... that is sooooo sweet, OB! You're really good for my ego, you know! Thank you soooooooooooo much! :D

As for withdrawal symptoms... I think I'm already having them! :(

Every day, SuKu! And on some days, I published more than one post! Have a look at the post counts against May and June this year, in the Archives section in the sidebar.

This month turned out to be excessively stressful because of some extra work that came up suddenly. AND also because of not having pre-set daily topics to write about. Nahin to, who knows... I might have taken this further into the 8th months as well.

On second thoughts... NO. If I'm going to do anything special for the 800th post here, then I will need to keep myself relatively free for that.

Haahh! S and K! You might as well have mentioned the complete name! :P
I did a giveaway+contest for the 600th post. Maybe I'll do another one of those this time also... let's see...

Thank you for visiting my blog and commenting on H.C's books :)
Hope you will get more strength and inspiration to write on your blog. Sometimes a short break does good :)

Thanks Martha! The short break turned out to be a long one eventually... I fell sick and had to be hospitalized! :(
