30 Days of Me: The Day...

Day 1 of "30 Days of Me"
A photo of yourself and a description of how your day was.

Here's a recent photo for a change. It was taken at my sister's engagement party in April this year. Dad took it from his cell phone, so it's a bit grainy. But I like it. So sharing it here. Like the blue color I'm wearing... one of my all-time favorites. And I like the straight hair too... gorgeous! :D

Coming to the second part of the post now... the day...

Well, it was definitely not among the best ones I've had. For starters, yesterday, I forgot to take my medicine for Asthma. So today (including last night), I've been having real difficulty breathing. Reiki helped though.

And then, since I'm planning to "clean the slate" even further very soon, I've been trying to exorcise certain ghosts from my past lately. Today, I decided to take one such "ghost" head-on... and determine once-and-for-all whether it was part of the baggage to-be-left-behind or taken-along. As it turns out, this one's not gonna make it any further.

Yes, it's not easy... cutting off a part of yourself to leave behind. But if that part is not healthy for you anymore, then it's best to let go of it. So yes again, I am in pain right now, but thankfully, I'm not suffering.

So much for today then. See you tomorrow now.

This is my first post for NaBloPoMo September 2011.

If the thing one wants to leave behind happens to be a person, one may sever all contact (online/offline) in a matter of minutes, but how would one drop that person from one's thoughts? How would one consciously stop memory triggers from going off and taking us back? Can willpower control the subconscious?
While we may well decide to leave the person behind, there is only one thing that can actually do it for us - time. On its own.
Penny for your thoughts, pretty lady in delicate blue.
