Quote Challenge - Day 1 of 3

It's now over one and a half years since I opened my store. Life seems to have become pretty much stable now, or "settled" as my friend G would have said (the one who died last year).

When I first decided to relocate to Jaipur, I had never imagined that I would finally be able to start my own business here... at this totally new place, with no local contacts. Yet, such is life.

As Allen Saunders puts it... "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans."

The Little Princess tagged me in this 3-day Quote Challenge. I have been seeing other bloggers do this for a while now, hoping somebody would tag me, 'coz I have always loved quotes. Back in school, a big chunk of my pocket money was spent on collecting quote books. They also made excellent birthday gifts in those days, for giving as well as receiving.

The quote shared above has been one of my favorites for many years now. Once upon a time, when I had newly discovered about email signatures, this quote used to be my signature on all outgoing emails. And it is just so true, isn't it?

So thank you for tagging me, Princess! And I pass this challenge on to Sanch, Arpita and Nabanita.

3-Day Quote Challenge : Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3

*****************************************************************

This is what the 3-Day Quote Challenge is all about.

1. Post one of your favorite quotes (different quote on each day) on three consecutive days. The quote can be from your favorite book, author, or your own.
2. Nominate 3 bloggers to challenge them.
3. Thank the blogger, who nominated you.

That's a nice quote...we get so caught up in goals and plans that we forget to actually live life! Thanks for the tag. I'll blog about this when I get back home. :)

Great quote - and so true! So often what actually happens is not what we'd expected at all.

Oh I love this quote and it is so true. I mused on similar lines in my Hindi blog a few days back. While planning makes us feel secure, life indeed throws a spanner in our work often.

I am a quote hoarder too!! I used to write them in a little notebook I had in school (still carry it with me) and the screenshot folder of my phone is filled with quotes I found online!

True that! But usually we realize when life has already happened!

That quote is so true. Things happen in life that are so unplanned and you do things you'd never thought you would. What's your store about Chicky?

It certainly is a great quote and how true too! I suppose that is why meditation is so important so we stop multitasking and making other plans whilst life is happening around us! ;) <3

That is so true, Sanch. Sometimes, we get too wrapped up in our plans to enjoy life. Looking forward to reading your favorite quotes.

Thank you, Laurel! Life is strange in that way, isn't it?

Chicky said...

Exactly, Rachna! Life seems to enjoy disrupting our plans! :D

Thanks, Lata! I'm glad you liked it as much as I do. :)

Thank you, Naba! Looking forward to your favorite quotes! :D

Oh yes, Sreesha! I used to note them down too! I had some really colorful, designer notepads that I probably got as gifts. They were all covered with quotes in different colored pens! :D

Haah! That is also true, Shilpa! :D

Tulika, I have a stationery store.

Chicky said...

Elly, you have a point there. Meditation does help in letting you live in the present moment.

He sure does, Princess! :D
