Glow-In-The-Dark Stars: Photo A Day - Stars

Day 10 of "May Photo A Day Challenge" : Stars

My set of glow-in-the-dark stars! I simply couldn't post anything else for today's prompt! So what if I had to spend more than 2 hours hunting for these stars! :P

Glow-In-The-Dark Stars

I purchased this set of glow-in-the-dark stars, in Kanpur, in November 2001. They came with double-sided sticky dots, so you could stick them on the ceiling of your room and enjoy the experience of sleeping under the stars while remaining indoors. I bought a similar set of glow-in-the-dark hearts too.

Unfortunately, frequent relocations (due to job and other stuff) didn't give me an opportunity to use these stars (and hearts) in my room. Eventually, I decided I'd rather wait till I settle down in my own place. So, both the stars and the hearts were still in their original packets, somewhere in the house. The only trouble was... after our last relocation to Jaipur, I had no clue where that "somewhere" could be! Hence the 2-hour-long "treasure-hunt"!

Luckily, I found a lot of other "forgotten" stuff too in the hunt! So, in the end, it turned out to be a good use of the 2 hours! :D

By the way, this is the 700th post on my blog! :D

This is my tenth post for 2013 May Photo A Day Challenge.

700th post! Oh my god. Impressive :-)
I am blogging since 2004, haven't seen my 300th yet :-(
This idea crossed my mind but we haven't got the stars yet, which we wanted to do for the little one. But I could have done it from Mumbai. My brother had done it in one room. They look lovely and our son is completely fascinated by those.

Thanks Kajal :D
Well butterflies should look lovely too, especially on the side walls! I'm just waiting so eagerly for the day when I'll finally have these stars on my ceiling! :P

@Meena - Seriously yaa, I didn't know where I'd be able to find another set! So I saved this one! Thankfully, I'll have to wait for just 1.5 years more now!
Btw, will you hit 500 during this photo challenge too?

Chicky a.k.a. Kaddu said...

Hahahaha! Thanks Reema! :D
Well you can probably make out how crazy I am about blogging! And this 700 is when I have taken my blog off the radar completely several times, for several long months! Nahin to I would have been closer to 900 I guess! :P

2004? Wow! You are among the pioneers in blogging then! I started in December 2006, and even then there were very few bloggers as compared to now! I remember, till 2008 I had like less than 10 readers on my blog! What a journey it has been!

Thanks Afshan! :D
For some strange reason, whenever I read your comments, I get the impression of a super-excited girl, slightly out-of-breath, 'coz she's typing so fast! :P
You aren't a Gemini by any chance, are you?

Chicky a.k.a. Kaddu said...

Thanks Shilpa! :D Probably my fastest century here! :P Feels like only days ago when I did that giveaway for the 600th post!
Where did you get them from, for Aaryan? Are they available in Jaipur? I've never seen them ever after that day in 2001... not anywhere! That's why I've been saving them for my own place! But if I can get more in Jaipur, that would be so lovely!

You aren't one given to histrionics, but you sure have earned solid bragging rights. You know what'd be fun? (Well my idea of fun anyway!) Stats. Yes, a stat attack, commemorating your 700th post, containing tidbits such as how many posts per month you've averaged over the years, the average length, in words, of a post, the total visitors on your blog, the tags used the most and the least, how many comments ever, anything :-)

Chicky a.k.a. Kaddu said...

@OB - Thanks dude! :D

Chicky a.k.a. Kaddu said...

And that stats post... too much hard work yaar! :P

700th?? wow!!! And these look so good here but won't they look eerie on the roof??? I guess its a matter of personal choice hai na?? :)

May you get to use these stars ASAP :)

Chicky a.k.a. Kaddu said...

Hahaha! Let's see! They'll seem quite smaller up on the roof... I took this photo real close, in macro mode. Besides, I can always take them off if I don't like them! :D
