LOL! Thankfully, my microwave has a 30-second button, instead of the 1-minute button!

It's "interview" time again here! :D
Shilpa Garg tagged me earlier this month with her own set of eleven questions. The rules of the tag are:
- You must post the rules!
- Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you’ve tagged.
- Tag eleven people and link to them in your post.
- Let them know you’ve tagged them.
I'll answer her set of questions, but I'm not going to pass the tag on. Reasons:
a) I don't have 11 *active* bloggers in my reading list!
b) I'm too lazy to come up with my own set of elevenses (in hobbit lingo)!
So, here are my answers to Shilpa's questions...
What was your funniest moment in life?
I've already blogged about it earlier... point no. 43 in this post.
If you watch the saas-bahu serials, why do you do so?
Nope, I don't. I watch DID Li'l Masters. And a few TV serials I'm able to follow only on-and-off these days ('coz of the ongoing IPL matches!) are Dekha Ek Khwaab (no bahu or saas) and Saas Bina Sasural (which, as the name says, has bahus but no saas)!
What do you think of Aamir’s Satyamev Jayeta?
Have heard a lot about it... yet to watch it.
If someone gave you Rs.1 Lakh and asked you to kill a butterfly by burning it alive in the flame of candle, would you do it?
Well, I don't mind killing insects. Especially cockroaches. Don't know for sure if I'd kill a butterfly too. For Rs. 1 lakh, I probably would. But then again... burning it alive... that sounds a bit too gross, doesn't it! So, I don't know.
Have you ever indulged in a cat-fight? Please share all about it!
Naah. My instinctive tendency is to just back off from all fights if they seem to be getting nasty.
If you could relive the last five years of your life, what would you change?
Probably all of it except this blog!
If you could take a year off and go traveling, where would it be?
Depends on who's sponsoring the travel expenses! :P
Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives right near you?
Both are equally bad, I'd say.
Has your greatest fear ever come true?
No, not yet. And I hope it never does.
Life is too short to tolerate_________________?
People who put you down all the time, who cannot appreciate you, who never have anything nice to say about you, who constantly judge you.
How do you know whether it’s time to continue holding or time to let go!?
When it starts feeling like a burden, you let it go. When it starts weighing you down, you let it go. When it restricts your forward movement, you let it go.

Is anyone else seeing posts in their Facebook timeline from pages they are not subscribed to? This just showed up in my FB home...
As you can see, it is not a "Share" by any of my friends. It is a direct post from this page, which I haven't subscribed to. (The "Like" button is showing up in the bottom right corner of that box! If I was already subscribed to the page, it would have shown a "Liked" button with a tick mark next to it!)
So can anybody shed some light on this? Is this some new way in which Facebook has started promoting brands? Are we going to see advertisements in our news feed now?
Found this in my camera while transferring images from it to my computer...
First mango of the season!
Picture taken on 26th April.
I've always loved mangoes since I was a kid, although I preferred to eat them in a slightly different way back then. (For details, you may please refer to my old post "Being Independent".)
All those years in Patna, I could hardly eat mangoes. The weather over there made my skin severely allergic to them. So I ended up getting big painful acnes if I dared to eat even one single slice of mango! Not so in Jaipur though. Jaipur is more like Kanpur... hot and dry. So I can eat as many mangoes as I wish to now! :D
Apparently, such little pleasures in life DO count a lot.

Last Wednesday, I mentioned to Dad that we haven't had a get together in our building since Holi (which I bunked btw... I always bunk Holi!), and that it's time we had another one, what with the summer vacations of kids etc. Then Friday night, this lively neighbor suddenly drops by to inform us about a proposed "Hot Pot" pool dinner on Sunday, and asks us if we'd be interested! Haahh! "Interested?" Well, I was WAITING for it! :D
So anyway, since this was a "pool dinner", all families were supposed to prepare one of the dishes, from the pre-decided menu, for "the table". One round of complete menu between the families of one floor. The top 3 floors don't have enough occupancy yet, so we were combined in one group. I had to make bhindi for this group... roughly 25 people.
LOL! I have never made ANYthing for more than 10 people! 25 was a first for me! Bhabhi (that lively neighbor who was in-charge of my group) advised me to take 2 kilograms bhindi. So that's what I did. Didn't have a cooking utensil large enough to make 2 kgs bhindi at one go. So I split it into two parts and cooked 1 kilo at a time. Came out fine eventually... no catastrophes, no excess salt, no 'bhindi ka halwa' look!
Here's a photographic display of my mission "Bhindi Bonanza"...
And the get together? Was a huge success! A total of 96 families in the society currently. Some of them couldn't make it though, due to other prior commitments. Some couldn't cook for whatever reasons. So they contributed in other ways... renting the catering equipment (tables, chairs, plates etc.), supplying drinking water & cold drinks, lighting the venue (the central lawn in our society), setting up a music system there, and even running a live bhelpuri counter! (Awesome bhelpuri man!)
And yes, we had housie (lotto) too. Rupees 10 per ticket. Total proceeds divided up in 7 prizes. I won the grand prize... the first full house... 200 bucks! LOL! Now everybody in the building knows me as "Chicky - full housie"! :P

You've probably heard so many people saying that their pillow is a hairstylist and that they wake up with a different hairstyle each morning. Ahh, but I'm sure you've only heard them SAY this... you've never probably SEEN any of those styles their pillows came up with!
Well, not anymore. Here's what my pillow did for my hair tonight! :P :P :P

In December 2011, I published a post here about Conflict Resolution. There were 2 visible roads ahead... one shown by the heart and the other advised by the mind. After much head-scratching, I had decided to just create my own third path, instead of going either with the heart or the mind.
I've finally implemented the choice that was taken months ago. This is it...
This is the layout of the society where I've just purchased a flat, jointly with Dad. We pooled in ALL of Dad's savings, part of my PPF, and ALL of my "wedding fund" too!
It's really funny! In India, people (especially Marwaris) will save lakhs of rupees, just for their daughter's wedding! Well, I have spent it all now. No "wedding fund"... so no wedding! But I DO own half of a 2-BHK flat in Jaipur! LOL! :)
