Live Life: Will Yourself To Find A Way

My BSNL internet has not been working properly since yesterday. Some sites are opening up fine, but some give a 403 Forbidden Error. So, while Facebook and Yahoo Messenger are working fine, and while I can even send/receive emails via Outlook Express, I’m unable to open even Blogger. Oh and when I try to open my blog, it tells me that the domain “http://mysterious-kaddu.blogspot.com/” is for sale! Amazing right! My own blog is for sale, and I don’t even know it!

Anyways, on the 1st, the next issue of Kadzilla’s Lounge goes live. So obviously, life without Blogger would just not do at this time! I have a Tata Photon Plus Prepaid connection too, for taking care of such emergencies. And I have been staying afloat on that since yesterday.

I was expecting the BSNL problem to be fixed by today morning maximum… it generally doesn’t take this long, but it continued throughout today too. So by 8:30 pm today, I suddenly found that my Photon account balance had also become nil! Oops! And to add icing to the cake, I found that the Tata Customer Center was already closed! So there was no way I could get it recharged today. Ooh la la!

Now the magazine… okay I could do the rest of the work tomorrow. But, what about the post on my own blog? Today’s post for this NaBloPoMo series? After slogging at this untiringly for 28 long days, was this a test of God now, to deter me from my path right at the end of the journey? Hmmmm… well whatever it was, I wasn’t going to give up NOW! With just 2 days left!

I decided to type the post out in a Word document, and mail it to my sister through Outlook Express. My sister knows the passwords of all my frequently used accounts. So I figured I’ll call her on phone and walk her through logging into my blogger account and posting the contents of that mail on my blog as today’s post.

But, before that, I needed to make dinner.

While making dinner, I wished that the techie guy I had befriended at my BSNL Exchange years ago, still worked in BSNL. I was sure he would have been able to help me out. This has been a frequently recurring problem now, though never for such a long stretch at one go! And while thinking of him, I suddenly remembered he had once given me an alternate set of DNS values for the broadband connection. I decided to try that set to see if it still worked.

It did!

Using the other set of DNS values, I was able to access Blogger again via BSNL! Ha ha ha!

No wonder they say “Where there is a will, there is a way!”

And today I add to it – “Will yourself to find a way!”

This is my 29th post for NaBloPoMo September 2010.
