Live Life: Apologize To Loved Ones

A life well-lived is a life rich with warm and fulfilling relationships. In today’s times though, it is rare to find a person enjoying such beautiful relationships in life. Growing number of complains and grudges, hearts filled with bitterness, and bloating egos – this is the picture being painted across the canvas of the world today. A big problem, but, with a very simple solution!

Over the last few months, I have spent some time observing the different kinds of relationships around me. People with the maximum ‘issues’ in life are always those who do not have too many healthy relationships to boast about. Discordant personal relationships, especially with people who are close to you, tend to leave their mark in other aspects of your life too, even in your professional life. No matter how hard you try to keep your personal life separate from your professional life, extreme disturbance in one will show up in the other!

And one of the major reasons for stress in relationships is the absence of these 3 golden words – “I am sorry!

All of us have been told to “forgive and forget” hundreds of times. But the truth is - we are still humans, and unenlightened ones at that! So it’s not always easy to put this thought into practice. There are of course times when we are able to get over stuff and move on by ourselves, but then, there are some hurts that cut deep. And in such occasions, we may get on with our lives, because “the show must go on”, but we may never quite get healed of that wound.

Wounds, if left unattended, can become really ugly, and can get filled with a lot of bitterness, a lot of venom.

But we don’t realize this when we hurt people. We never pause to think of these consequences when we, consciously or unconsciously, betray someone’s trust, or hurt someone’s feelings.

I Am Sorry – just 3 words, and yet they can completely change the course of a person’s life.

The choice is in our hands – whether we want to leave a heart filled with bitterness for ever, or whether we’d rather get the baggage off our own chest… because no matter how much we deny it, the truth remains that we are never really at peace if we know that we have hurt someone, and that ‘someone’ has not yet been able to move on.

So… go on then… make your choice…

By the way… saying sorry isn’t really that difficult! :)
