Liberation!

Just read this post on Douglas' blog - "You're too old... the Media says so".

The post ends with some lines from Marianne Williamson, which I came across somewhere earlier too, but then lost them. Copying them here now, so that I can go through them whenever fear strikes in...

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world.
There's nothing enlightened about shrinking,
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

So... be like this Eagle... and fly away to your dreams!

Very true..... fear is a hindrance..it makes us perceive strange things, mostly imaginary and untrue.....

** As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others. **..absolutely.

Nice :)

The lines you quoted are so true. Worth putting up on the wall to be read every new morning.

And an equally striking picture of the eagle.

(I just hope the picture doesn't stir up the emotions of any so-called 'Rashtravadis' we have around these days who'd relate the eagle to be the symbol of the Americans and try to force you to change the picture to that of a peacock.)

Sorry for the out-of-context comment above, but that's just a side effect one has after a few minutes of watching NEWS on the TV.

But once again, nice lines. :)

Awesome poem, and very encouraging too :) The best way to get over fear is to "face" it! Nothing works like a head-on collision.. Once we know, what it looks/ feels like, we'll never fear it any more!

Captivating.

We are born knowing most of this. But iterative programming does this to your memory.. And your soul. I needed a strong reminder. :) Beautifully woven lines. Thanks for sharing! :)
