Celebrating Independence!

Somebody forwarded an email to me a little while ago... was a real laugh! So decided to share it here along with my comments in blue. Enjoy these 'Marriage Facts by Kids!" :D

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY?
You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming.
-- Alan, age 10
Yeah right! You wish!

No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with.
-- Kristen, age 10
LOL @ "stuck with"! Btw, how do you know this at 10, kid?

WHAT IS THE RIGHT AGE TO GET MARRIED?
Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then.
-- Camille, age 10
Eh? What was that?

HOW CAN A STRANGER TELL IF TWO PEOPLE ARE MARRIED?
You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids.
-- Derrick, age 8
Ha ha ha ha ha! And we have another Sherlock Holmes between us! :D

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR MOM AND DAD HAVE IN COMMON?
Both don't want any more kids.
-- Lori, age 8
Well, nobody ever expected them to be mirror images really... one being from Mars and the other from Venus...

WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE DO ON A DATE?
Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know each other. Even boys have something to say if you listen long enough.
-- Lynnette, age 8 (isn't she a treasure)
Like REALLY long enough, you mean? ;)

On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date.
-- Martin, age 10
Ahh! Bull's eye!

WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A FIRST DATE THAT WAS TURNING SOUR?
I'd run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the newspapers and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns.
-- Craig, age 9
Ahem! Talking straight works better, you know... but of course, if you are the 'Drama Queen' type... or 'King' in his case...

WHEN IS IT OKAY TO KISS SOMEONE?
When they're rich.
-- Pam, age 7
:|

The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn't want to mess with that.
-- Curt, age 7
Ha ha ha! Don't worry kid... someone will give you the correct facts very soon now! :)

The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them and have kids with them. It's the right thing to do.
-- Howard, age 8
=)) =)) 'Right thing!' =)) =)) Don't worry, for you too will be corrupted (like Curt above) soon enough!

IS IT BETTER TO BE SINGLE OR MARRIED?
It's better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them.
-- Anita, age 9 (bless you child)
Love you girl! The best answer in the entire quiz, according to me! Muuaahhhhh!

HOW WOULD THE WORLD BE DIFFERENT IF PEOPLE DIDN'T GET MARRIED?
There sure would be a lot of kids to explain, wouldn't there?
-- Kelvin, age 8
He he he! So practical...

And The #1 Response Was... (#1 from the bottom!)

HOW WOULD YOU MAKE A MARRIAGE WORK?
Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a dump truck.
-- Ricky, age 10
Tch! Tch! This quiz must have been made up by some male! When it comes to relationships... these poor souls seem to have all their facts screwed up!

I liked Derrick's answer, but don't you think this quiz was fabricated?

The kids seem to know more than that of what is permissible for their age!

Ha! Ha!

A nice, fun post, to say the least!

P.S. I still do not understand why there are reams and reams of stuff written on marriage and on men and women.. how 'different' they are that is... Mars, Venus... et al.

It is not that complicated... trust me.

Tons of jokes on MIL, FIL, BIL, how marriage destroys the 'independence' of the person who finds himself in the position of someone's hubby. Jokes on wives... it goes on and on and on.

Now, MIL is "mother-in-law"... so I guess you can fill up the FIL, BIL part...

And the target of all these jokes is the 'wife' and her family/folks. Never the man or his family. They are mostly the 'innocent victims'... mind you.

No word on domestic violence, dowry deaths... not a pip! Wonder why... ???

And if some female ever tries to open her mouth about some such social plague, majority of men just get all geared-up for battle, to hush her up. Making sure in the process that nobody dares to raise their voice again for a long long time!

A couple of days ago, I was informed by a male friend that there are actually books being sold for a hefty price that teach men "how to get the women they want in bed in 30 days"... "how to seduce women" and stuff like this! So its obvious there are buyers for this kind of stuff! And if I talk in my post about such males, who use such tactics on girls from small towns who might not be aware of these kind of things, they actually have the nerve to blame it all on the girl! Why don't they come forward to beat such males black n blue, so that he doesn't dare trick another unsuspecting girl like this?

Same thing happened on Nikita's blog too, when she wrote a hard-hitting post against this specific category of males. Weird!

I guess there are no right answers... it's just too individual.

Lol, I don't think those were fabricated. Reminds me of that show... I think it was 'Kids say the darndest things'

I loved Alan's answer... 'keep the chips and dips coming'. If only, my young friend, if only... :D

Lol..Isn't it really amazing that todays kids know so much...I mean How ? Thats why a new term is used "Kidult"

Kaddu said...

Dave:
LOL! I would have said 'keep the tea and coffee coming'! :p I love people who make good tea/coffee for me... so much so that I can even mention them in my will, just for that!

Kaddu said...

Nikita:
I know.. some answers were really funny! :D

Kaddu said...

Dhiman:
No idea dude! You might have to ask one of them... I'll bet they'd give you another funny answer! Do you watch Li'l Champs on Zee TV? What would you say about the 6 year old Avsha, who hosts that show? :D Mind blowing, isn't she? ;)

Hi! it was fun reading these comments by kids and your remarks on them which acted like garnish without which it would have looked like a forwarded mail. =)

Kaddu said...

Shas:
:D Thanks Shas! Yupp, I used to do this even when I maintained a hand-written diary. I used to collect a lot of fav jokes and stuff in my diary... this was pre-internet days btw... and I used to add my comments/reactions to them in a different colored ink! I guess old habits die hard... or don't die at all! :p
